Special Education

Welcome to Gillette Elementary! I am Mrs. Yvette Najera, the Life Skills teacher. This is my thirteenth year in Special Education at Gillette Elementary. I attended Texas A&M University-Kingsville where I earned my BS. I have been passionate about working with children with disabilities since I was in high school and have found this to be a large part of who I am.

I am honored to have your child in my classroom this year. We are excited to spend the 2015-16 school year with your child as we strive to implement various learning activities to help your child develop skills in becoming lifelong learners. Mrs. Hernandez and Ms. Reyna are our Life Skills paraprofessionals. They both are dedicated to teaching students and supporting their strengths. We look forward to a collaborative and positive school year. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to schedule a meeting.
